Guillermo Bolinaga
Guillermo Bolinaga is the co-founder of Opportunitas Advisors, a consulting firm specializing in political and regulatory risk and strategic communications. He is a long-time business consultant with a focus on risk management, strategic communications, and scenario planning. For two decades, he was the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Director of Empresas Polar, the largest private sector company in Venezuela.

He has more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in global companies that achieve strategic business objectives in mission-critical situations. His extensive experience extends to political and regulatory risk and crisis management in Latin America with a focus on Mexico, Colombia, Perú, Central America, and Venezuela.

He has been recognized for his ability to develop strategic analysis to manage risk and capitalize on opportunities, as well as develop corporate messaging and communications, and mitigate business risks in complex business disputes and uncertain political and regulatory environments. He has served on the board of directors of companies in Venezuela, the United States, Colombia, and Mexico.

Guillermo was professor of Evidence Theory at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas and founder and coordinator of the law school’s Honors program (Cátedra de Honor). He has also been a guest lecturer at INCAE Business School in Costa Rica.

He earned a law degree from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a Master of Laws from Duke University.
